Second to sixth Class took part in Computer Coding this year. It was immensely beneficial. It helps children’s problem-solving, processing and math skills and helps them to become critical thinkers.
We also have 7 school Ipads for the children to use to reinforce Maths, English and Irish through educational apps and develop their IT Skills.
Irish Drama Competition
We took part in and won the Seosamh McGabhann Irish Drama Competition which was run in conjunction with the County Fleadh Cheoil on May 16th 2018. Children from Killea N.S. were outstanding in their production and were highly commended for their standard and fluency sa Gaeilge.
Every year our children participate in extra curricular activities such as Tag Rugby, Athletics, Gymnastics and Swimming, all of which are vitally important to the health and wellbeing of our pupils.
Children in Killea N.S. begin playing tin whistle in the Junior Room and are encouraged from a young age to play and sing at all school related events. Their sweet singing voices add greatly to all school and church ceremonies. The school choir have also taken part in Peace Proms and the Young Voices choir.
